counting in hindi

Numbers are strings of numbers that are used to represent the magnitude. They determine size, which is the amount of size or how small an amount is. There are many kinds of numbers. However they fall into two main categories: the counting numbers, and scalars.

Counting numbers, Natural Numbers

They are used to count the number of objects. The numbers are all positive and have no fractional components. Examples include 12 cars, 45 students, 3 houses. For more information on this, see Counting numbers and Natural numbers.

Scalars

They are in Hindi and are that are used to determine some quantity to any desired level of precision. For example a building height is 12.388 meters, and the speed that an airplane travels will be 810.31 km/h. They may have decimal places or fractional components. Learn more about the definition of the Scalar. Within this category there are several types of number:

  • Real numbersReal numbers are those that can be positive, negative, or zero and may have decimal spaces or fractional portions. They are among the most popular numbers used in measuring quantities. For instance, 31.88 centimeters. They usually have units. For more see Real number definition.
  • Integers are whole numbers that may be positive, negative or zero, however, they don't have decimal points as well as fractional fractions. They're like count numbers, but are also negative. For more information, see Integer Definition.
  • Negative and positive numbersPositive numbers are those that are believed to be higher than zero. A positive number that is large is greater than a smaller one, for instance +12 is greater than +2. For more details, see the Positive number definition.Negative numbers are those considered to be lower than zero. They can be thought of as deficits or debts. In the case of example, if it is your only wallet and owe someone $12 and you think of your wallet as having a negative balance of $12. In a way you have less than zero dollars. To learn more about this, read Negative Number Definition.
  • Rational and Irrational Numbers Rationalnumbers are those that can be defined by the ratio of two inequalities.
The word "rational" comes from 'ratio'. For instance, this number 0.5 is rational as it is able to be written as the ratio 1/2 . For more see Rational number definition.Irrational numbers are those that are not rational, that is those that cannot be written as the ratio of two integers. For more details, refer to Irrational numeral definition.
  • Imaginary numbersImaginary numbers are those needed to find how to find the square root for negative numbers. This is not usually possible. For instance, that the square root for 16 would be written 4i, where the letter i represents the sign for square roots of a negative one. For more on this see Imaginary number definition.
  • Complex numbersRemember that real numbers are those that lie on a number line. Complex numbers expand this idea to numbers on a two dimensional flat plane. Complex numbers comprise two componentscalled the imaginary and real parts. See Complex number definition.
  • Primitive numbers are integer that has no factors (Integers that divides a given number without leaving a remainder) apart from one and itself. In other words it can be divided by only one factor and the number itself. 17 is a prime number. 16 is not because it is able to be divided into 2, 4, and 8.A composite number is one that isn't prime. However, it does have factors and therefore is the reverse of being a prime number. See Composite number definition.

Number notation(counting in english)

There are various ways that numbers can be written , or even diagrammed.

  • The number line is a graphical way to visualize numbers by placing them along a straight line. Usually, they are having zero at the center with positive numbers on the left, and negative figures on the left.
For more details, see the number line.
  • Decimal notationThe common method of representing actual numbers. A string of digits and a decimal mark (dot). Digits to the left of the point are increasing powers of ten. Those on the right increase negative powers of ten. Example 836.33 , -45.009.
  • FractionsA fraction is a quantity written one above the other. It indicates how much of a whole thing we have. For example we may get three-quarters a pizza:34of the pizza. For more details, check out the Fraction definition.
  • Normal Form (Scientific notation)For very large and extremely small numbers decimal notation isn't the most effective. Normal notation consists of two parts which are a coefficient as well as the exponent (power of ten). For example the distance to solar system is 93000000 miles. This can be conveniently written as 93x10 six miles. 93 is the coefficient and 6 , the expression, is used. For more see Normal form (scientific notation).

Some numbers aren't even numbers in any way

Sometimes, numbers serve to distinguish objects. Instead of measuring how big the object is, they are used to mark objects that exist in the real world. For instance, a student ID number is not utilized to gauge anything. It's just an array of numbers which identify a particular student.

It makes no sense to attempt to do arithmetic with these numbers. Dividing a student number by two or finding the square root of a telephone number has no meaning.
